Looking back on the year that passed:
Lindsay: in the summer of 2005 I met my best friend. We became close right away and have grown to be close friends ever since. We started dating in February, got engaged in November, and will be getting married in May.
Element: In November or December of 2007 Pastor Jacob Roach talked to me about getting involved with the youth group at my church. I was skeptical...and nervous...at first, but I am so glad I did it. Before I did this, I didn't know anybody at church except for Lindsay and a few JBU friends, but now I have a lot of friends at church---I actually enjoy going to church now, which is something I've never had before.
Work: I left my job at JBU at the end of June. I was unemployed for two months, and I have been working for NCR since late August. Looking back I realized that my first job was pretty good in a lot of ways, but I really hated it--i didn't enjoy the work, i didn't like my boss, i hated waking up every morning, and i hated the end of every weekend. Now, in my new job, I love what I do, I have a great relationship with my boss and my coworkers, its easy to get out of bed in the morning, The only downside is that it is 35 miles away, so I spend an hour and a half a day in the car and I put 2000 miles on my car a month.
My thoughts and goals for 2009:
--Look more at my health. I lost 20 pounds in 2008, and kept about 15 pounds of it off. I would like to keep this up. I know that 15 pounds a year isn't much (realistically, I could do it in 1-2 months if I really pushed it), but if I keep it up, then I think it will become a lifestyle instead of just a crash diet. Also, the average adult gains about 1-2 pounds a year, so going the opposite direction will be good.
--Watch my dollars more closely. I don't make a lot of money, but I make enough. However, I constantly find myself barely making it after each paycheck. I have decided to write down every penny I spend in 2009 so that I can see where it goes. I think this will help me see where my money goes and evaluate how I spend my money.
